Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about Rockwell Home Management, the $150 Home Safety & Readiness Audit, Custos Hub by Rockwell, and our monthly plans serving older adults and their families in the Chippewa Valley.

The Home Safety & Readiness Audit

What is a Home Safety and Readiness Audit?

The Home Safety and Readiness Audit is a one-time, $150, in-person walkthrough of the home conducted by a Rockwell representative. The audit evaluates seven pillars of home readiness: structural and exterior condition, interior safety and accessibility, mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical), environmental risks, security and entry points, emergency preparedness, and technology readiness for the Custos Hub platform.

You receive a written report with prioritized findings and recommended next steps. The audit is the starting point for every Rockwell relationship. Families are welcome to use the report with or without subscribing to a monthly plan.

How do I get started with Rockwell?

Every Rockwell relationship begins with a $150 Home Safety and Readiness Audit. You can schedule your audit online or by calling (715) 255-0235. After the walkthrough, you receive a written report with prioritized findings and can decide whether a monthly plan is the right fit for your household.

Monthly Plans & Services

What are the Rockwell monthly plans?

Rockwell offers three subscription tiers:

Who is Rockwell Home Management for?

Rockwell is built for older adults who want to remain safely and independently in their own homes, and for the adult children and family members who want confidence that the home is looked after. Our clients typically include aging-in-place households, families overseeing a parent's home from a distance, and property owners who want professional oversight of a seasonal or secondary residence.

What services does Rockwell NOT provide?

Rockwell is a home stewardship and property oversight company. We do not provide home health care, personal caregiving, medical services, or emergency response. We are not a licensed home health agency and we are not a substitute for 911 or emergency medical services.

Custos Hub alerts are informational and support coordinated property response. They are not intended for medical decision-making or emergency dispatch.

Custos Hub by Rockwell

What is Custos Hub by Rockwell?

Custos Hub by Rockwell is a professionally installed home awareness platform included with every Rockwell monthly plan. It uses environmental and activity awareness sensors calibrated to your home to surface meaningful events, such as water leaks, temperature extremes, or changes in daily household routines.

When the Hub detects something that needs attention, Rockwell reviews the alert and coordinates the appropriate response through vetted local trades. Custos Hub is never sold separately. It is always installed, configured, and managed by Rockwell.

What kind of sensors does Custos Hub use?

Custos Hub uses Z-Wave wireless sensors that measure environmental conditions and household activity patterns. Depending on your plan, sensors may include water leak detectors, temperature and humidity sensors, door and window contact sensors, and motion sensors.

All sensors communicate through a locally hosted hub in the home. The system is designed around environmental data and activity patterns, providing awareness without disrupting daily life or privacy.

How is Custos Hub different from a home security system?

Custos Hub by Rockwell is a home awareness platform, not a traditional alarm or security system. It is designed around environmental and activity awareness, helping surface events like water leaks, temperature changes, and shifts in household routines.

Custos Hub does not dispatch police or fire services and does not connect to a central alarm station. Alerts are informational and are reviewed by your Rockwell representative, who coordinates the appropriate response. For emergencies, always call 911 directly.

Who owns the Custos Hub hardware?

The Custos Hub hardware, including sensors and the hub device, is owned by Rockwell Home Management for the duration of your subscription. If you cancel your plan, Rockwell will schedule a removal appointment to retrieve the equipment at no cost to you. You are never responsible for purchasing, maintaining, or returning the hardware on your own.
